Juan Romero was an Ambassador Hotel busboy who at 17-years-old had just finished shaking hands with Robert F. Kennedy when all of a sudden Kennedy fell to the ground after being fatally shot. Juan called out for help and pressed his rosary beads in to Kennedy's hands. A week later Juan began receiving letters from the community. Some letters contained rosary beads and some blamed him for stopping Kennedy for a handshake. The fame and blame was too much after a while and Juan Romero left Los Angeles soon after. He has lived in San Jose, California for many years with his family and has worked in construction.
