The Soccer Fields used to be...
the location for the Ambassador Hotel Bungalows.
Besides having over 500 hotel rooms, the Ambassador Hotel also had numerous bungalows surrounding the property. The hotel attracted movie people, especially those who commuted from New York & they typically stayed in the large comfortable bungalows. The hotel's location was ideal for those who didn't want to stay in noisy downtown LA but who also wanted to be close enough to Hollywood. This proximity made the hotel a popular spot with the growing movie industry. Stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Howard Hughes were known to stay in the bungalows while visiting Los Angeles.
